Golden Beach Homes
Golden Beach is a quiet, upscale community bordered by the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. Known as a home to several celebrities including Bill Gates and Ricky Martin, this affluent town is surrounded by Aventura to the west, Sunny Isles Beach to the south, and Hallandale Beach to the north. While small (it is about one mile north to south and four blocks east to west,) its proximity to an array of dining, entertainment, and shopping options throughout the tri-city area are one of the many attractive features of Golden Beach.
Haulover Park is considered home to one of South Florida’s most beautiful beaches, a pristine mile and a half stretch of smooth sand and crystal blue waters. Aventura Mall, Florida’s largest shopping mall, is a short drive from the town. The mall holds nearly 300 stores and service centers, and spans a retail floor area of 2,700,000 sq. ft. Aventura, an impressive northern Miami suburb, was designed to be Florida’s answer to Beverly Hills, California. Golden Beach is just 18 miles from busy Miami International Airport, and about 15 miles from the Ft. Lauderdale Airport and cruise ship hot-spot Port Everglades.
In 1974, the city was made famous by Eric Clapton, who named his 461 Ocean Boulevard album after the address of his beautiful Golden Beach house. The album ranks in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of all time list. Golden Beach is also infamous for its large police force, which runs a tight ship with regard to traffic laws.
The must-see town has retained the original vision of the 1928 founders, R.W and Henry G Ralston, being “a small, quiet community along the coast devoted entirely to family life near enough to the large centers yet far enough away to insure the peace and quiet of suburban life.”
